A rendering into English of the poetical form of this ancient cycle of folk tales, with the crafty Reinard (Renard, Rynard) as its central protagonist. The author of the present work is unknown, though the translation has been taken from the German of Hartmann Schopper, a 16th century poet who fought in the Habsburg–Ottoman wars and became acquainted with then Emperor Maximillian, to whom he dedicated his rendition.
