Four poems in the original French and the English translation printed in letterpress on textured Arches paper and printed by The Wild Carrot Press. The book includes 5 silkscreen prints from Lois Mailou Jones, one of America's most celebrated Black artist. Four of Senghor poems appears in this edition. Leopold Senghar became the first Black member ever induced into the French Academy. In 1960 he was elected the first president of Senegal and re-elected four times. As a poet, he represented the literary and artistic expression of the Black African experience. This volume is #171 of 300 and signed by both Senghar and Jones.
