New York: The Limited Editions Club, 1988. The first book of the 49th Series, signed by John Hersey who wrote the introduciton and Roberto Juarez the illustrator. Limited to 750 signed and numbered copies, this copy being #447. The text was set in a special cutting of eighteen point american monotype Janson at Out of Sorts Letterfoundery. Text printed at Wild Carrot Letterpress on mould-made Cartiere Enrico Magnani paper. The etchings were printed, 'chine collé' on hand-made Japanese tissue to hand-made Richard de Bas paper, by Peter Pettengill, Paul Taylor and Bruce Chandler. Design by Benjamin Shiff.
