This is a rare American illustrated folio of the King James Bible. "Valued by collectors, as its illustrations give excellent examples of the work done by several American engravers of that time"--Wright page 325. Copies that retain all the plates are scarce. Names, dates and times of birth of the children of August J Negendank and Rebecca Snyder Nedendank on black page before New Testament. Clippings and inscriptions to front paste down and loose endpaper by previous (Negendank) owners. Toning and general wear throughout, number of pages with wax damage, toning throughout, repairs to the first few and last few leaves. Contemporary calf, recently repaired. Item #31095
