2011. The ninth entry into Jordanov's highly acclaimed "Twelve Labours of Hercules" series, this copy signed and numbered "21/75". Image size 85mm x 120mm, sheet size 175mm x 165mm. C3 Etching Hercules was sent to retrieve the girdle (belt) of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons. While Hippolyta was initially willing to give it to him, the goddess Hera spread a rumor that Hercules was there to kidnap the queen. A bloody battle ensued; Hercules killed Hippolyta in the chaos and took the belt. Julian Jordanov is not just an illustrator but a visual storyteller.
