The Apple of Discord is a golden apple thrown by the goddess Eris into a wedding feast, inscribed "for the fairest," which sparked a vanity-fueled dispute between Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. This event led to the Judgment of Paris, who chose Aphrodite, sparking the Trojan War. Juri Jakovenko (born 1965) is a renowned Belarusian graphic artist and engraver, internationally recognized for his technical printmaking and his fantastical, surreal imagery. Based in Grodno, Belarus, Jakovenko has established himself as a master of the etching needle, creating dense, narrative-rich compositions that often blend medieval aesthetics with modern surrealism.
