Erato is one of the nine Muses in Greek mythology, specifically the patron goddess of lyric poetry, erotica, and hymns. Her name, derived from eratos, means "lovely" or "beloved," and she is often depicted holding a lyre or cithara. As a muse, she inspires passion, romance, and the art of love, frequently portrayed with a wreath of myrtle and roses. Juri Jakovenko (born 1965) is a renowned Belarusian graphic artist and engraver, internationally recognized for his technical printmaking and his fantastical, surreal imagery. Based in Grodno, Belarus, Jakovenko has established himself as a master of the etching needle, creating dense, narrative-rich compositions that often blend medieval aesthetics with modern surrealism.
