An account of Cornelius De Jong's travels to The Cape of Good Hope, Ireland and Norway, this edition edited for youth by J. Olivier. Chapters 2-8 covering his time in the Cape, describing its history, geography, people, wildlife and more. Based on orders De Jong did not travel onwards to the East Indies and traveled back to Europe via Cork, which is covered in Chapters 9-10. Chapters 11-18 covers Norway, it's inhabitants, fauna, flora, mines and more. it includes a fold-out plate showing skiing soldiers, describing the sport and its importantance in the Norwegian military Bound in original boards, plates all bright and internally sharp.
