The Professor in Erin
Dublin: Gill & Sons, 1918. Hardcover. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Very Good. Probably Mcmanus's best known work (full name is Charlotte Elizabeth). As described in Locke, p148, Volume 1; "An alternative history science fiction fantasy, presupposing that Ireland developed normally (without the influx of foreigners from the rest of Britain) from the 17th century. In the story, a German professor is flung by an accident from the 20th century Dublin into that of an laternative world. The book was written before World War I". Locke described a blue variant but also mentioned other variants can be found with no known priority. This particular variant is in a red binding with black lettering on the spine. Some stains to the boards. Moderate Foxing mostly early and later in the book, but generally clean. VG or better copy. Provenance - From the Gary Munson Collection. VG. Item #8312
