An uncommon collection of 21 short stories by the author, including several supernatural tales, which includes "Death and the Duchess" a clever vampire tale, "The identical Twin", "The Impossible Adventure" and "the Haunted Ghost". Described in Bleiler 241 - "Capably handled, if familiar in theme". An amusing dedication - "To my Overdraft Without its constant encouragement these stories would never have been written" A VG copy, gutter slightly visible on page 80, bump to the top corner of the back board. Internally generally in VG+ to NF condition. Inscribed on the front endpaper by the author, dated Christmas 1941 (year of publication). Includes the DJ, VG+ showing browing of the spine and chipping at top and bottom of spine. Clipped and now with archival cover. Provenance - From the Gary Munson Collection. VG. Item #8838
