An uncommon copy of this important work by Leakey, this follows on his earlier publication in 1931; "The Stone Age cultures of Kenya Colony". In the earlier publication Leakey promised to follow up with a work that gives detailed information of the various skulls, skeletons and fragmentary human material found in association with Kenya Stone Age Cultures, which is discussed at length in this volume. Detailed information on the age of the material in particular the Oldoway skeleton, is covered in detail. The book includes 37 black and white plates and numerous illustrations and drawings throughout, foldout map in the back. The book is in VG condition, showing some foxing to the edges and toning to end papers. Original navy cloth and with the original DJ, about VG or better. A very presentable copy of this uncommon but important work. This is a heavy book and additional shipping charges may apply. Provenance - The Esmond Bradley Martin Collection. Esmond was an American conservationist based in Nairobi, Kenya, particularly known for his work in stopping the illegal trade of ivory and rhinoceros horns. Martin was stab to death in his Nairobi home in 2018 under suspious circumstances, possibly due to his work on combating the illegal trade in ivory and rhino horn. VG. Item #9391
